Position Summary

The Department of Computer Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions. We seek dynamic educators with a passion for computer science and a commitment to inclusive, experiential learning.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and/or graduate courses in computer science.
  • Incorporate experiential learning opportunities into course design.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages diversity of thought and experience.
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans, and adapt instruction to new modes of delivery.
  • Grading student work, providing timely and robust feedback, and addressing student questions in accordance with university, college, and department policies.
  • Provide academic support to students, both online and in person, as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment.
  • Deliver instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and department coordination policies.
  • Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Computer Science or related fields.
Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per‑credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Salary per credit hour assignment ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, based on university policy.

Benefits

Affiliate faculty are not eligible for the university’s benefits program. Eligibility for benefits applies only to full‑time faculty and staff.
