Undergraduate Peer Advisor – Student Support II (2026-2027

Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Undergraduate Student Affairs at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs in:

• Provide International Studies (INTS)/Public Policy (PPOL) support for undergraduate students that are majoring/minoring in these programs, including one-on-one and group (as needed) advising sessions throughout the academic year
• Maintaining records and tracking the academic progress of INTS/PPOL majors/minors
• Assisting undergraduate students who wish to declare a major in INTS/PPOL
• Meeting with prospective students and their families throughout the academic year in collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Admission
• Collaborating with other units/offices as necessary;
• Offering general program assistance and special project support to the faculty and staff of the Undergraduate Program in the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs as needed.

• Demonstrated capacity for working with and mentoring a diverse group of undergraduate students
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with academic advising and administrative support
• Experience organizing and advertising events
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications(e.g. Word, Excel, Publisher etc.) along with DU database systems.
• Enthusiastic, organized, creative and self-motivated.
• International experience and/or working with an international student population is highly desirable.

• Must be a current graduate student to be eligible for employment during the academic year specified.
• Work-study

• We are particularly interested in candidates who have academic advising experience and wish to actively contribute to the development of an important student resource at the undergraduate level.
• Standard office environment.
• Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is low to moderate.
• Noise level is quiet to moderate

• Ability to sit in front of computer for an extended period.
• Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
