Unit Information

The Department of Student Leadership & Service advances student learning, belonging, and civic responsibility by providing comprehensive leadership development and engagement opportunities that prepare students to lead lives of purpose and impact. The department supports students across the full co-curricular lifecycle through student employment and supervision, leadership education, peer mentorship, community service and volunteerism, and fraternity and sorority life.

Grounded in the University of Denver's 4D Experience, Student Leadership & Service fosters inclusive communities, ethical leadership, and socially responsible action. The department collaborates broadly across campus and with community partners to help students translate involvement into meaningful learning, preparation for post-graduate success, and sustained connection to the DU community.

The Saunders Leadership Academy Graduate Mentor plays a central role in fostering community, mentorship, leadership development, and student engagement within the program. This position is ideal for a graduate student passionate about relationship-building, facilitation, and supporting students in their academic, personal, and professional growth.

The Graduate Mentor will work no more than 15 hours per week under the supervision of the Director of Student Leadership & Service, helping to develop and facilitate the Saunders Scholars Leadership Academy cohort program for undergraduate students. In this role, the Graduate Mentor will oversee Scholar retreats and meet-ups, serve as a trusted guide and mentor to the Scholars, and build out leadership programming and resources.

The GA will work no more than 15 hours per week under the supervision of the Director of Student Leadership & Service, helping to develop and facilitate the Saunders Scholars Leadership Academy cohort program for undergraduate students. In this role, the GA will oversee Scholar retreats and meet-ups, serve as a mentor to the Scholars, and build out leadership programming and resources.

In doing so, this individual will maintain meaningful relationships with the full-time staff members of the SLS team as well as forge and maintain relationships with other campus partners in support of the program.
