Job Title

Performs psycho-educational assessment (average, gifted, disabled, and disturbed children) of students Preschool through 12th grade.

About this job:

Assesses students using psycho-educational assessments and tools and consults with staff and parents, making recommendations for developmentally appropriate services and strategies to assist in improving student achievement. Participates in crisis management by counseling and/or making referrals. Counsels students and parents (in groups and individually) and consults with staff in the development of appropriate behavior goals. Develops individual and group problem-solving techniques and interpersonal relation skills.

Provides a climate within which parents, students, and staff can gain assistance with problems. Evaluates student learning needs. Assists in the development and maintenance of strong home-school links and resource information. Interprets test data; researches available tests necessary to meet individual school needs; provides in-service training for staff on standardized administration techniques; and interprets individual and group test data to staff and parents.

Hold a Master's Degree or higher in School Psychology. Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - School Psychologist. Have experience in the administration and interpretation of a variety of test instruments to evaluate cognitive ability, learning aptitudes, academic skills and eligibility for special education. Have experience using consultation techniques that allow for providing effective techniques that address problems in learning and behavior.

Have experience working with culturally diverse populations. Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
