The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Progression and Student Success is responsible for leading Student Services coordinated care systems to ensure students progress through their academic goals, complete credentials, and support the transition into sustaining-wage careers. This position will collaborate with leadership in Academic Affairs and the Center for Workforce Initiatives to ensure Student Services staff have access to current labor market information and skills validation resources to support integrated and consistent career readiness strategies.
This role leads CCD’s Student Services student progression infrastructure, integrating career, academic, and financial aid advisement into a cohesive system of coordinated care. Given that a majority of CCD students experience financial barriers and constraints and a significant proportion are Pell-eligible, this role ensures that financial aid and financial mastery is fully integrated into the Division of Student Services and supports career readiness and student success strategies to elevate student success progression, persistence, and completion.
This position will be responsible for the Financial Aid unit and will supervise the Director of the Office of Financial Aid. This position will also supervise the unit responsible for Student Success Technology and Student Communications, utilizing systems such as, but not limited to EAB Navigate 360 as the technology behind coordinated care. In addition, this position will also supervise other relevant federal, state, local grant or institutionally funded relevant programs assigned.
This AVP will champion a Student Services division-wide culture of career readiness that integrates the college-directed strategy and goals created to support professional competencies and career connections across the student experience. This position will develop and implement a comprehensive Student Services strategy that supports the implementation of career development across the student experience continuum in the departments that report to the VP Student Services;
contribute to institutional reporting and compliance for the Division of Student Services related to career support and outcomes, state workforce data tracking, and accreditation requirements; and lead CCD’s Division of Student Services student progression infrastructure, integrating advisement of academic, financial, student success technology, and career exploration and readiness into a cohesive system.
Student Progression & Coordinated Care Strategy
- Lead institutional strategy, within the Division of Student Services, for student progression and a coordinated care model that integrates college-wide areas of advisement and career exploration and readiness across the student lifecycle.
- Establish proactive intervention systems using student data (e.g., early alerts, financial risk indicators, course success and progression, engagement metrics, etc.).
