Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA timelines and requirements.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and create, monitor, and adjust Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Ensure accurate and consistent progress monitoring and maintain all required documentation.
- Deliver individualized instruction through push‑in co‑teaching in classes of 28 to 32 students and pull‑out small groups typically ranging from 6 to 8 students, adjusting based on need.
- Implement research‑based intervention programs such as Lexia Core5, RAP 95, PLL, and Zearn.
- Align specialized instruction with general education curricula including Bridges and Amplify.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports are implemented with fidelity.
- Coach and support paraprofessionals in providing academic, behavioral, and adaptive interventions.
- Build strong, culturally responsive relationships with scholars and families that center inclusion, communication, and shared ownership of growth.
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (any subject)
- Current Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
- Special Education teachers must be certified in Colorado. If your license is from another state, you will need to have the transfer completed before the first day of work.
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
- Minimum two years of lead teaching experience. (We define lead teacher as the primary teacher in the classroom who is responsible for all academic content.)
- History of working with special needs populations
- Understand ABC data collection
- History of case management
- CPI/NCI Trained
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
