Description
The Extended Care Staff is hired by the school Principal to assist the Extended Care Director to supervise the school’s Extended Care Program. The Staff member is responsible for the supervision of the students participating in the Extended Care Program. All members of the Extended Care staff are expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the local school and of the Archdiocese of Denver.
The staff cooperates with the principal in providing an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.
- Supervises and maintains proper student behavior in accordance with school policies to ensure the safety and welfare of all students;
- Follows established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of students;
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school and classroom matters;
- Communicates with Extended Care Director regarding all Extended Care matters;
- Other duties as assigned by the school principal.
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in early childhood education;
- Compliance with Safe Environment requirements.
- Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC );
- Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals;
- Effective supervisory skills;
- Effective listening and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work with students in a less structured but organized environment;
- Must work cooperatively with school staff and administration;
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills;
- Knowledge of and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures.
- Requires lifting up to 40 pounds and carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to execute appropriate safety and emergency procedures, including leading evacuations and providing basic first aid.
- Part‑time, non‑benefitted position
- $21-23/hour based on level of education and experience
