Position Summary
The Department of Theatre and Dance invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in the Theatre Technology and Design Program. The role will support the program’s 3‑credit‑hour courses, primarily delivered in person with some online options.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students.
- Prepare course materials, lesson plans, and assignments.
- Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
- Address student questions in accordance with university, college, and department policies.
- Provide academic support as needed for the assignment.
- Deliver instruction consistent with the syllabus and learning objectives.
- Comply with university‑wide instruction evaluation and peer observation policies.
- Adapt to new modes of instruction and meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- BA in Theatre or a related field plus 6 years of relevant experience; or BFA in Theatre or a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience.
- MA or MFA in Theatre or related field plus 2–3 years of relevant experience; or a Doctorate in Theatre or related field plus 2 years of experience.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes, typically semester‑by‑semester. They are not eligible for the university’s benefit program. All assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire.
SalaryPay is determined by the number of credit hours assigned at a rate of $1,264–$1,482 per credit hour.
