Overview
Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) seeks a transformative leader to serve as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost/EVPAA). The Provost/EVPAA is the university’s chief academic officer, responsible for advancing student success, academic strategy, and inclusive leadership across the institution.

Role and FocusThe Provost/EVPAA will work with the president and leadership team to integrate work, service, and short-term credentials into academic pathways. The role requires data-informed decision making, collaborative leadership across the institution, and inclusive management to drive student outcomes from the classroom level. The Provost/EVPAA will also serve as a key liaison between faculty and administration and foster relationships that promote enrollment, retention, persistence and student success.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction for academic affairs, aligning curricular and credential pathways with institutional goals.
- Lead efforts to promote enrollment, retention, persistence and student success through collaboration with the Vice President for Student Affairs and other leaders.
- Foster inclusive management practices and accountability for student outcomes at all levels.
- Oversee budgeting processes and resource allocation in support of academic programs and priorities.
- Build effective, sustainable relationships with faculty and administration to advance the student experience.
- Bridge MSU Denver’s activities with regional partners, including Colorado Community College System, to ensure seamless credential pathways.
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution with qualifications appropriate for appointment as a full professor with tenure.
- Progressive administrative and leadership experience in higher education.
- Experience with data-informed decision making, strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration.
- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and to advancing student outcomes.
