RCM Healthcare Services seeks a Virtual Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students to provide specialized K-12 instruction in an online setting. In this role, you'll deliver standards-based lessons, adapt curriculum using visual supports, sign language, and assistive technology, and align services with IEP goals. You'll collaborate with school teams nationwide, participate in IEP meetings, and document student progress. Responsibilities
- Provide virtual instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, aligned with IEP goals and state standards
- Adapt and differentiate curriculum using visual, auditory, and assistive technologies for DHH learners
- Conduct ongoing assessments, track student progress, and document services in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school teams to support student access and inclusion
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student goals, progress, and strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings, provide educational recommendations, and contribute to goal development
- Integrate sign language, cued speech, captioning, and other accommodations as appropriate to student needs
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and virtual classroom logs per district and RCM Healthcare standards
- Engage in professional development to stay current on DHH instructional methods and technology
- Uphold RCM's standards for professionalism, integrity, and high-quality student-centered services
Required Skills
- Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
- American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities for DHH students
- IEP development and implementation
- Special education law and compliance (IDEA, Section 504)
- Virtual/online instruction platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Google Meet)
- Learning management systems (LMS)
- Differentiated instruction and accommodations for sensory impairments
- Progress monitoring and data-driven instruction
- Use of assistive listening and captioning technology
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary school teams
