Social Work Affiliate Instructor

Affiliate Faculty – Social Work – Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver)

We are seeking part‑time Affiliate Faculty to teach Social Work courses across the curriculum. Affiliate Faculty will work with a Lead Faculty, participate in a content teaching team, and may teach one to two courses each semester (maximum three).

• Deliver course content in person or online, including preparing lesson plans and grading student work.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
• Adhere to department course coordination, Lead Faculty model policies, and university policies on student evaluation and peer observation.
• Adapt and support diverse student populations and new modes of instruction.
• Work in partnership with Lead Faculty and content teams as needed.

• Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE‑Accredited program.
• Minimum two years of post‑MSW experience for practice courses; five years for field seminar courses.

• Additional five years of relevant post‑MSW or related master’s experience.
• Doctoral‑level coursework (PhD or ABD) in one or more content areas.
• Two years of teaching experience in relevant content areas.
• Experience teaching online and with diverse, under‑represented students.

Affiliate Faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired per credit hour for specific classes on a semester‑by‑semester basis. They are not eligible for the University’s benefit program and are paid $1,264–$1,482 per credit hour (rate determined by university policy).
