Responsibilities
- Teach 3+ credit hours (undergraduate or graduate) in subject areas such as Introduction to Hospitality, Strategic Management, Organizational Leadership, Facilities Operations, or other related courses.
- Deliver instruction in person or online, creating course materials, lesson plans, grading and providing timely feedback.
- Consult with students, address questions, and provide academic support as needed.
- Demonstrate effective use of technology in coursework and adapt to new modes of instruction.
- Interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff, and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
- Comply with university, college/school, and department policies on student evaluation, peer observation, and course coordination.
- Undergraduate program: Completion of a Master’s degree in the field of instruction or a Bachelor’s degree in a hospitality‐related discipline plus substantial current professional experience (≥10 consecutive years of increasing responsibility and supervision) directly related to the teaching field.
- Graduate program: Completion of a Ph.D. in the field of instruction or a Master’s degree in a hospitality‐related discipline plus substantial current professional experience (≥10 consecutive years of increasing responsibility and supervision) directly related to the teaching field.
- Nationally recognized certificates or licenses relevant to the teaching field.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, generally on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Faculty are not eligible for the University’s benefit program. All assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
SalaryPay per credit hour ranges from $1,209 to $1,482, determined by university policy and the number of credit hours assigned.
