Position Summary

The Department of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions.

• Teach 3‑9 credit hours.
• Be available for consultation with students.
• Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Develop and deliver course content, prepare materials and lesson plans, grade student work, provide timely feedback, address student questions, and provide academic support as needed.
• Provide instruction consistent with the content and learning objectives of the syllabus and with department course coordination policies.
• Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies.
• Adapt and learn new modes of instruction.

• M.A. or M.S. in Economics, Applied Economics, Agri‑Econ Economics, or a related field earned within the last 6 years.
• Meet College of Business Faculty Qualifications Policy criteria to be classified as SA, PA, or IP.

• ABD or Ph.D. within the last 6 years with at least one publication in a journal listed in ABDC or Cabell’s (less than 50%) or a refereed book chapter and at least one conference presentation.

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per credit hour basis on a semester‑by‑semester basis. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program and must teach in person/on campus upon hire. Assignments depend on budget and enrollment.

Salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned, with a per‑credit-hour rate between $1,264 and $1,482.
