Position Summary
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach one or more credit hours as determined by the department; courses include undergraduate and graduate offerings.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Provide instruction in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid formats as needed.
- Be available for student consultation outside of class through in‑person or remote meetings.
- Conduct student assessments as prescribed by the curriculum.
- Participate in student and course evaluation, peer review, and programmatic assessment activities.
- Adhere to university and department policies regarding student evaluation and assessment.
- Teach content based on the syllabus and any department guidelines.
- Entry‑level clinical degrees in speech‑language pathology or audiology.
- Ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
- Experience teaching using the Canvas learning system.
- Experience working with diverse student populations including students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, low‑income students, first‑generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non‑traditional students, student veterans, and English language learners.
- Certification from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association or a similar professional credential.
- Research doctorate in audiology, speech‑language pathology, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in the discipline.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes, typically on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the university’s benefit program, and teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
SalaryRate of pay per credit hour assignment ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, based on university policy.
