Position Summary
Part‑time affiliate faculty teaching position in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). The primary responsibility is to teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses (lecture and laboratory) at basic and advanced undergraduate levels.
Responsibilities- Teach biochemistry and introduction to organic & biological science courses (lecture and laboratory) at basic and advanced undergraduate levels.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, and provide timely feedback.
- Deliver course content in person or online, consistent with the syllabus and department policies.
- Provide academic support to students as needed.
- Adapt to new modes of instruction and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
- Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Doctorate in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Previous teaching experience.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually semester‑by‑semester. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. Assignment may require teaching in person/on campus upon hire.
SalaryRate per credit hour assignment: $1,264 – $1,482, based on the number of credit hours assigned.
