Associate Field Service Technician – Denver, CO POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies and computer systems and peripherals within retail store and commercial business environments. They perform a full workload of product installation, support services, and repair on Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions as well as non‑TOSHIBA retail products in store systems, retail banking, and SMB marketplaces. The Technician is accountable for customer satisfaction, metrics attainment, and operational activities required for the services provided, including product and component exchange, on‑premises basic product and store equipment problem diagnosis, adjustment, and repair.
Candidate works under supervision until trained and capable of working unsupervised.
$25/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES- Operates in assigned territory and performs basic repairs and services on products, utilizing standard maintenance packages, diagnostics, reference documentation, system tools, and service aids to identify routine problems. Performs basic diagnostics and may require assistance from more experienced SRs for difficult repairs.
- May travel within assigned territory or nationally to customer locations to perform installations, relocations, discontinuances, product‑level engineering, and configuration changes, upgrades, and modifications.
- Communicates effectively with customers, management, peers, and team members regarding status of work, potential problems, and satisfaction, building positive customer relationships.
- Manages situations to complete service events in high quality and timely manner, meeting customer commitments and minimizing disruptions.
- Plans, prioritizes, and schedules work to meet or exceed Service Level objectives, arranging travel plans cost‑effectively and responding to schedule changes. Works varying shifts, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Documents installation activities accurately according to Toshiba standards using automated systems and reports, including travel, mileage, timecards, and expenses.
- Maintains and manages trunk stock to support all customers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Driving to multiple customer locations throughout the day.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Standing/Walking activities encountered during 75% of the normal workday.
- Stooping/Bending/Squatting activities encountered frequently.
- Reaching activities conducted frequently and repetitively throughout the workday.
- Twisting activities may occur depending on job tasks.
- Use of basic hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, etc.) is regular.
- Regular air travel may be required.
- Use of ladder or lift to reach devices on roofs or ceilings may be required.
- Position is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship.
- High School Diploma with 2+ years’ experience in an Electronics field.
- Must be able to travel 100% of the time, including domestic and/or air travel.
- Basic knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat‑panel TVs & monitors, cash registers/point‑of‑sale equipment, and associated retail devices (scanners, handheld devices, kiosks, printers).
- Mechanical aptitude with competency in electricity & electronics; ability to use test equipment, hand tools, and electronic testing equipment.
- Ability to follow written or spoken directions and provide information clearly and concisely.
- Strong customer service skills; multitasking, prioritizing, and independent work.
- Good written and oral communication skills, including tact and diplomacy with customers.
- Understanding of IT signal and power cables, low‑voltage wiring, and ability to diagnose and repair.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, high ethics and character.
- Professional demeanor, dress, and behavior.
- Problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work long hours as project needs dictate in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
