Stampede currently owns and operates more than 150 miles of crude gathering and transportation pipeline and over 175 miles of produced water gathering pipeline across more than one million combined dedicated acres. Stampede also operates a robust fresh water supply, storage, and distribution system, as well as the Ren Compressor Station and associated gas gathering and gas lift infrastructure in the northeastern DJ Basin.

Stampede currently transports more than 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 100,000 barrels of produced water per day, and gathers more than 75 MMcf of natural gas per day.

Summary

The SWD Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of saltwater disposal facilities and injection wells. The position performs routine inspections, monitors disposal volumes and pressures, operates pumps and filtration systems, conducts preventive maintenance, and ensures compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The SWD Operator plays a critical role in protecting environmental resources and supporting the safe, uninterrupted movement of produced water from customer and field operations.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Operate and monitor saltwater disposal facilities and injection wells.
  • Monitor injection rates, pressures, fluid volumes, and tank levels.
  • Inspect pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, tanks, meters, and filtration equipment.
  • Verify incoming loads meet facility acceptance requirements.
  • Track and record disposal volumes and operating data.
  • Perform daily facility inspections and complete operational reports.
  • Clean filters, strainers, and related equipment.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.
  • Monitor water quality and facility performance.
  • Maintain well integrity and ensure disposal operations remain within permitted limits.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility.
  • Report spills, mechanical failures, safety concerns, and environmental incidents.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers, field personnel, vendors, and management.
  • Participate in emergency response activities when required.

Education and Experience (required)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of oil and gas operations, water management, SWD, production, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of pumps, tanks, valves, pipelines, and injection systems.
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
Education and Experience (preferred)
  • Experience operating Class II injection wells.
  • Knowledge of state oil and gas commission requirements.
  • PEC/Safeland certification.
  • Mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation experience.
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
