Primary Responsibilities
- Manage internal Jacobs teams as well as external subconsultants and contractors
- Collaborate with our technical leadership, client account managers, and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance
- Manage client relationships to ensure all expectations are understood and met; work with the broader Jacobs team as necessary to ensure stewardship of positive client relationships, including active involvement in the resolution of any client concerns
- Oversee assigned projects to minimize risk and adhere to project budget, schedule, scope, and quality, identifying and mitigating risks as they arise
- Lead in identifying, developing and pursuing business opportunities with existing or new potential clients
- Support Jacobs’ operational and business development teams with proposals or other materials for new business opportunities
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Systems), Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in energy consulting, planning, design, or project development
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting energy master planning initiatives, including campus, utility, district energy, or large‑scale infrastructure planning
- Strong understanding of integrated energy systems, including generation, distribution, storage, and load management strategies
- Proven ability to develop long‑term energy strategies and roadmaps that address reliability, sustainability, decarbonization, and future growth
- Load forecasting and growth scenario modeling
- Infrastructure capacity assessments
- Phased capital planning and investment strategies
- Decarbonization and climate response planning
- District energy systems (steam, hot water, chilled water)
- Renewable generation (solar, wind) and energy storage
- Distributed energy resources (microgrids, CHP/cogeneration)
- Ability to perform or guide techno‑economic analysis to evaluate alternatives and support decision‑making
- Experience using or guiding energy system modeling tools for optimization and scenario planning
- Proven track record managing multi‑disciplinary planning projects from concept through implementation strategy
- Strong client‑facing experience, including facilitating workshops, aligning stakeholders, and translating technical findings into actionable plans
- Ability to balance competing priorities such as cost, schedule, sustainability goals, and operational constraints
- Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and supporting business development activities
- Ability to translate complex energy challenges into clear, actionable master plans
- Experience integrating emerging technologies and grid trends into long‑term planning strategies
- Strong communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to present planning outcomes to executive stakeholders
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar credential
- Direct experience with utility or campus master planning or decarbonization strategies
- Experience supporting energy transition initiatives and sustainability‑driven planning programs

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
