Position: Remote Sensing Technician Denver, CO

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Remote Sensing Technician to join our dynamic Geospatial Team. This entry‑level position involves sensor operation, data processing, and reporting for airborne mapping missions. The role requires domestic and international travel (30‑60 days per assignment). Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must already have work authorization.

What You Will Do
  • Download, process, edit, and troubleshoot collected sensor data in the field.
  • Set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning.
  • Maintain sensor equipment on the ground and in flight; ensure safe and secure use.
  • Complete field logs as required.
What You Will Bring
  • Desire to learn and be part of a dynamic operational team.
  • Understanding of computer hardware and Geographic Information Systems.
  • Valid U.S. passport and willingness to travel to CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Willingness to undergo pre‑employment verification and drug screening.
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule of 30 to 90 days travel with 20 or more days off.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. (or related experience).
  • Experience with data acquisition and processing, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety.
  • Knowledge of bathymetric or hydrographic data is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Leica LSS, Mission Pro, Micro Station, ArcGIS, Qimera, Global Mapper, QINSy, HYPACK, Edgetech Discover, Terra Solid, and Sonar Wiz.
  • Strong working knowledge of geomatics and mapping concepts.
  • Experience with aerial acquisition systems preferred.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work independently or collaboratively.
