Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Remote Sensing Technician to join our dynamic Geospatial Team. This position is responsible for sensor operation, data processing, and reporting for airborne mapping missions. It requires both domestic and international travel and is an entry-level role for individuals with critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country where the job is located.

Responsibilities
  • Download, process, edit, and troubleshoot collected sensor data while in the field.
  • Set up and operate ground GPS base stations and flight planning.
  • Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sensor equipment on the ground and in flight.
  • Ensure safe and secure use of company equipment.
  • Complete field logs as required.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship and a valid U.S. passport.
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS for 30‑60 day assignments.
  • Ability to undergo pre‑employment verification and drug screening.
  • Willingness and ability to work a rotational schedule of 30 to 90 days travel with 20 or more days off.
  • Desire to learn and be involved in a dynamic operational team.
  • Understanding of computer hardware.
  • Understanding of Geographic Information Systems.
  • High School Diploma and/or G.E.D. and/or related experience (e.g., data acquisition and processing).
  • Land Survey experience is a plus.
  • Experience with bathymetric or hydrographic data is a plus.
  • Experience with Leica LSS, Mission Pro, Micro Station, ArcGIS, Qimera, Global Mapper, QINSy, HYPACK, Edgetech Discover, Terra Solid, and Sonar Wiz.
  • Strong working knowledge of geomatics and mapping concepts.
  • Working knowledge of aerial acquisition systems is preferred.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
