Description:
Huitt-Zollars' Denver Office has a full-time opportunity for a Senior Project Manager - Urban Development. The successful candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado with at least 15 years of project management experience in residential and commercial site civil design, drainage studies/design, roadway design, water and sewer design, right-of-way engineering, construction document preparation, and post design construction services.
The candidate will manage a team of civil engineers on land development and public works projects primarily in Denver with opportunities to work on projects for other offices.

Duties:- Serve as the Senior Civil Engineer in the development of feasibility/planning studies, geometric design schematics, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Lead daily coordination of urban development projects
- Coordinate with PMs, EITs, designers and drafters
- Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration process
- Develop project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects
- Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules
- Assist in preparation of project reports including feasibility studies, implementation plans, engineering summary reports, and drainage impact analyses
- Coordinate meetings (online and in-person), preparation of meeting agendas, and distribution of meeting minutes
- Effectively mentor young engineers and assist in their development
- Perform quality reviews of engineering plans for completeness and engineering accuracy
- Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business (Seller) or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy

- Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market.
- Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team.
- Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completed vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm.
- Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects.
- Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met.

- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
- Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado
- Min 15 years of civil engineering design experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint as well as familiarity with other project management tools such as One Note
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
