IMEG
, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer 1 in Greenwood Village, CO. The Senior Electrical Engineer 1 will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects, and lead design efforts with limited senior staff support for larger and high-complexity projects. They will work with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes.
- Primary responsibilities include project management, engineering analysis, design, and oversight of electrical systems in buildings.
- Work within the project's budget, assist in training and mentoring, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
- Lead design efforts for analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations per code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.
- Interact with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information; build and maintain client relationships.
- Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence; implement IMEG quality control processes to meet standards and client requirements.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff; provide technical assistance for field issues with limited senior staff support.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to R&D and innovation efforts within IMEG.
- Prioritize safety in all engineering work and identify/mitigate potential safety risks in electrical systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions; participate in project interviews and presentations.
- Strong technical and analytical skills in electrical engineering concepts such as circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems.
- Knowledge of IES Standards and reference resources (NFPA, Tech Street, MadCAD, FGI).
- Advanced proficiency in Master Specification editing and software (eSPECS); proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu.
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others; perform final quality control checks in their area.
- Ability to develop client relationships and sell work; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey information clearly in written and spoken form.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team; strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the building design consulting industry; 8+ preferred
- Regularly sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp
- Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
Salary Range: $98,000 – $141,000. Min/max vary by location. Individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
