The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

** Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Creates the overall plan for the development of a low-cost Hall thruster
* Establishes and leads the Hall thruster development team
* Responsible for the overall design architecture of a Hall thruster
* Manages the Hall thruster test facility development
* Develops the Hall thruster verification and validation plan, including any additional model development required
* Develops the manufacturing and test plans to produce a low-cost Hall thruster
* Supports the propulsion system in the development of a Hall thruster subsystem
* Collaborates with other subsystem team members, in particular feed system and power electronics engineers, for the development of other Hall thruster subsystem components
* Develops the roadmap and plans for future In Space Systems electric propulsion developments

* Qualifications:

*** Minimum of a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical field.
* 8+ years of related experience (including graduate work) in the design, development, and flight of electric propulsion systems, and at least 5 years specifically related to Hall thrusters.
* Established member of the electric propulsion technical community.
* Domain expert in one or more areas of electric thruster development.
* Proven experience in the electric thruster development lifecycle.
* An understanding of low-cost electric thruster manufacturing and acceptance testing
* Leadership or management experience as well as a history of mentoring.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*** Successful candidates in this role typically have 10+ years in the design, development, and flight of electric propulsion systems
* Ph.D in a field and with a thesis topic relevant to the development of Hall thrusters### Compensation Range for:
