This role provides technical and engineering support for the introduction of new products into our manufacturing processes. Candidates will be required to support, develop and improve current manufacturing processes and systems, as well as support/select the introduction of new processes/equipment used on current and future products. Focus is on ensuring all manufacturing processes implemented and improved comply with all legal, H&S and Company requirements.

Candidates should have a formal qualification (HNC, HND or degree) in an engineering discipline and should also have at least three years industrial experience within a manufacturing engineering role within one/two companies of medium volume production >100 units per day. You will be capable of interpreting, communicating and using technical data, as well as having familiarity with manufacturing, ability to read CAD/Autocad drawings and to produce them.

Candidates should be excellent communicators with the ability to work to tight project timescales.

Required Experience:

  • Working closely with International/UK R&D to provide implementation support for New Product Development into the manufacturing base across the wide portfolio of products / sites.
  • Work closely with external companies to specify equipment for production use.
  • Be hands-on, work with technicians and external companies to design, develop and build jigs, fixtures, basic machines and complete assembly lines. This includes working with our overseas sites ensuring any projects under development are on time and within budgeted costs.
  • Continually look at cost reduction/product improvements for all new and existing product lines.
  • Have a practical ‘hands-on’ approach to setting up lines and processes.
