Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWHAT TO EXPECT
As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Englewood, CO or Rochester Hills, MI engineering offices, you will be a Field Product Application Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong mechanical and technical skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Work with the Industrial Application Engineering team and report to the Application Engineer - Power Transmission Lead.
- Collaborate with customers on a variety of product applications primarily in our industrial markets.
- Help troubleshoot issues with customer products and design and recommend solutions using Gates products.
Key responsibilities (to name a few):
- Provide engineering service to customers for proper application and selection of power transmission products.
- Effectively present technical and product training material to internal and external customers.
- Collaborate with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and the Marketing Team to achieve organizational success.
- Analyze application requirements, provide failure analysis, select components, and make recommendations to meet system requirements.
- Troubleshoot customer questions via phone, email, and in-person; build strong relationships for success in this role.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably Mechanical, plus 3-5 years of engineering experience OR 5-10 years of progressive engineering experience, required.
- Eager to be hands-on working with customers, engineers, sales, and marketing teams.
- Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical and Power Transmission systems, preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles.
- Ability to travel to customers, plants and conferences as required (minimum 25%).
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Full-Time
- Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000
- Sales Incentive Plan Eligible: 10%
- Relocation is not provided

- 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days (accrued)
