The OpportunityWe are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a long-established MEP consulting engineering firm with an outstanding reputation and diverse project portfolio. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience designing electrical systems for buildings who is looking for a stable, long-term career in consulting engineering.
You will support the design of healthcare, education, commercial, and government facilities
, working closely with mechanical and plumbing engineers in a fully integrated MEP environment.
- Design electrical systems for institutional and commercial buildings, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Low-voltage and building systems
- Develop detailed electrical layouts, one-lines, and electrical room designs
- Perform load calculations, photometric calculations, short-circuit studies, and arc-flash analyses
- Produce and coordinate 3D Revit models and 2D AutoCAD drawings
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical narratives
- Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to ensure coordinated building designs
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- 3+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
- Demonstrated experience with electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design for buildings
- Strong Revit experience (minimum 3 years)
- Strong AutoCAD experience (minimum 4 years)
- Solid understanding of MEP coordination (HVAC & Plumbing exposure required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Professional, team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable work ethic
- Preferred Qualifications
- Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
- Experience with Ajera or similar project management software
- Experience supporting healthcare or institutional projects
