BIM Specialist

Overview

Job title:

BIM Specialist II with Paladin Technologies (Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business). This role requires BIM modeling and coordination tasks daily, while assisting to develop Revit standards, families, project templates, workflows, and procedures within Paladin Technologies. In addition to 3D BIM work, the BIM Specialist II may assist with traditional 2D CAD work. The position supports corporate objectives by delivering high-quality service to internal Paladin Technologies staff and external customers.

• Work in 2D and 3D drafting programs (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks) to develop detailed models and drawings for Structured Cabling Systems, Outside Plant Infrastructure, Audio Visual Systems, Security Systems, DAS, and other low‑voltage disciplines.
• Assist the Director of Design and VDC Manager to develop and maintain BIM/AutoCAD standards, processes, libraries, and templates.
• Recommend enhancements to Paladin BIM/AutoCAD programs, including software, training, and hardware needs.
• Provide 3D renderings of Conference Rooms, Data Centers, and IDF/MDF rooms for proposals, using assets from project teams.
• Expand knowledge of BIM and related technologies and systems installed for clients.
• Attend BIM coordination meetings and work with architectural firms, real estate developers, MEP consultants, and other modelers; resolve clashes and provide clear communication and support.
• Understand each project’s Design Intent, BIM Execution Plan, and Project Execution Plan.
• Perform Electronic Takeoffs as required using Autodesk tools or Bluebeam Revu.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and collaborative, proactive teamwork; contribute to teaching others when opportunities arise.
• Develop and maintain skills in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
  360, ACC, Navisworks, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Assist with additional design, drafting, modeling, or office tasks as directed by the Design Manager; support the design group as needed.
• Ensure timely and complete submittals of drawing sets per the BIM Execution Plan and Design Schedule; coordinate with colleagues to meet deadlines.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently with attention to quality and deadlines.

• 3–5 years of drafting/design experience in information technology, instrumentation and controls, electronics, and/or security industries.
• Post-secondary education in Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Ability to create aesthetically pleasing, legible, and accessible drawings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of the physical security and/or technology industries and related products and trends.
• Knowledge of IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; motivated self-starter with willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.

• Experience with Access Control, CCTV (IP and Analog), Intrusion Systems, Client-Server security applications, MS SQL databases, Servers and Storage Arrays, or Microsoft Visio (asset).
• Field experience in a construction environment (asset).

Must be able to communicate clearly (see, hear, speak, write) and perform manual tasks such as reaching, lifting small objects, and operating office equipment.

Typical office environment: clean, orderly, well-lit, ventilated with low to moderate noise levels.

• Compensation: $28.00–$35.00/hour (DOE)
