Description:
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an Electrical Tester (Testing Technician I) to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment;
Seeking a candidate with 2-4 years of experience who is available for up to 75% travel. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen.
The Electrical Tester will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.
Colorado-based is preferred, however the Electrical Tester position can be located at other CLP Engineering locations, or remote in a state where CLP Engineering is registered.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform mid/entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision.
- Testing on apparatus includes breakers, transformers, CT's, PT's, cables, and grounding.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely.

Skills | Knowledge |Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or previous military experience preferred.
- Two to four (2-4) years of relevant testing experience with:
- Prescence of Voltage Verification
- Contact Resistance
- Insulation Resistance
- Test Equipment Set Up
- One‑line Drawings
- Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods.
- Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member.
- You must be a US Citizen.
- You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
- A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy is required.
- Up to 75% travel.

- Hourly payrate range: $30.00-$42.75 based on experience, plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
