AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

• Provide full life‑cycle support to AWS Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad‑hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
• Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency, and enhance sustainability.
• Interface with internal data center operations, data center design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on‑site visits within Amazon’s data centers; produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering, including data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date.

• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
• Experience as resident engineer or hands‑on design consultant or owner’s engineer.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittal documents, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (e.g., UPS, diesel generators, electrical switch gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, fans, air economizers, water treatment).
• Data analytics and scripting skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data in evolving environments.

The base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
