Associate Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) — Denver, CO (Hybrid)
The OpportunityA progressive, multi-discipline building-systems engineering firm is hiring an Associate Principal / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) to help lead mechanical delivery and grow client relationships in the Denver market. This is a hybrid role (minimum 2 days/week in-office

As a senior discipline leader, you’ll own mechanical design execution across multiple projects while building a strong local presence in Denver.
Leadership & Team Development- Build, mentor, and lead local MEP/mechanical design teams.
- Provide oversight and coaching to HVAC designers and engineers; elevate technical quality and consistency.
- Serve as a senior technical voice in internal coordination, client meetings, and presentations.
- Develop and maintain a strong local client network (architects, owners, developers).
- Strengthen repeat business by delivering proactive, high-touch client service and reliable outcomes.
- Help drive business development strategy aligned with the Denver market.
- Lead HVAC system selection, engineering, and design for complex building projects.
- Produce and review HVAC drawings, calculations, analyses, and specifications.
- Ensure work complies with applicable building codes and best practices.
- Support construction administration, respond to RFIs/submittals, and perform site observations as needed.
- Partner with project teams to resolve field issues and protect design intent.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related degree)
- 10+ years of MEP consulting/design experience in the Denver metro area
- Proven team leadership and mentorship experience
- Strong project management capability within MEP delivery
- High-energy client service mindset and excellent communication skills
- Thorough understanding of building codes and mechanical system design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or equivalent depth of experience)
- LEED accreditation
- Working knowledge of IES-VE (or similar energy modeling tools)
- Salary range: $118,703 to $145,489 (annual) + conditional bonus
