Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location:

Denver CO, Boise , Phoenix AZ, or Dallas/Austin TX

We are seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer with 6+ of experience designing building mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role focuses on HVAC, odor control, hazardous area design, and supporting multidisciplinary project teams from design through construction.

• Produce contract documents including plans and specifications
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations and system sizing
• Design HVAC and odor control systems for water and wastewater facilities
• Develop process and control schematics and control descriptions
• Prepare technical memorandums, reports, and cost estimates
• Manage the mechanical portion of small to mid-sized projects
• Support larger projects as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Monitor scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work
• Mentor and train junior engineers
• Conduct site visits during construction and operations
• Review calculations, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and consistency
• Apply national, local, and client technical standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 6+ years of experience with custom HVAC systems, odor control, fire protection, and water-related facility systems
• Professional Engineer license strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and odor control system design
• Experience with hazardous and classified area design
• Knowledge of NFPA 820 and relevant energy codes
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and control strategies
