Overview
Reports to – Manager, Reservoir Engineering
Role – The Reservoir Engineer role will provide classic reservoir engineering analysis, input to development planning, and economic evaluation of subsurface related decisions. The role is collaborative as the position will work closely with their geoscience, operations, regulatory, and land counterparts.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities- Leverage advanced reservoir engineering techniques such as Rate & Pressure Transient Analysis, Material Balance, Volumetrics, Decline Curve Analysis, and Project Economics to evaluate and enhance field performance
- Evaluate and recommend well designs through data analysis and collaboration with subsurface and operations team inclusive of formation and well spacing
- Work with production team on flowback management as well as base production surveillance and optimization
- Support corporate model inputs for monthly forecast as well as annual budget plan
- Work with land and asset development to outline areas of interest for acreage deals/trades
- Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior management to report on performance to date, provide recommendations, and outline future strategy
- Assist with updating company reserves for financial reporting and third-party audit
- Evaluate and provide economic analysis for non-op AFE’s
- This specific role will support the Powder River Basin assets but will collaborate with the broader RE team in New Ventures or Corporate Development
- Reservoir Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience
- Degree education preferred in engineering discipline
- Conventional and unconventional reservoir evaluation experience
- Exposure to annual reserve work and third-party reserve reviews.
- Experience with data analytics, multivariate techniques, and uncertainty analysis
- Type curve generation, PDP forecasting, and economic modeling
- Proficient using Combo Curve, Whitson+, Spotfire and/or PowerBI
- Effective communicator/ team member/ high initiative/results driven
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy

The starting rate for this position is expected to be between $150,000 - $177,000, based on experience, qualifications, and internal pay alignment. Final compensation may vary from this range depending on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s education, skills, prior experience, and evolving market conditions. This range represents Anschutz Exploration s good-faith estimate of the pay for this role at the time of posting.
