Graduate Engineering Specialist – Electrical
Functions in an engineering capacity supporting Substation design. Under close supervision, performs routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in producing electrical engineering deliverables, like reports, drawings and specifications.
- Adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and company policies and procedures.
- Comply with the company quality program.
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
- Provide client focus by addressing needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external client interests.
- May provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Coursework and knowledge of substation design.
- Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Previous internship experience.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides, and standards.
- Insight into industry trends and developing technology.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction practices and principles.
- Skilled in problem solving, written communication, and peer relationships.
Bachelor's degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws.
Work EnvironmentHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
