Job Summary

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

As a member of the Storage Hardware Engineering team, you’ll design storage server platforms and AWS specific hardware components, interacting with engineers across the company and executing product designs from concept to production.

• Design of storage server platforms and AWS specific hardware components.
• Collaborate with internal development teams and external suppliers to deliver new servers with industry leading performance and quality.
• Define and deliver new products and services, driving execution.
• Lead integration and delivery of servers, support the development of automated monitoring, and failure analysis services to operate, debug, and scale our servers.
• Work closely with other AWS software teams to tailor and operate server solutions for the AWS environment.
• Support launching our servers into production and operating our fleet of servers.

• Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
• Experience with server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or experience delivering products to volume production.
• 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on work managing complex technology projects experience.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, Power Shell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP) and strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
• Expertise in product development disciplines such as thermal, mechanical, power, FW/SW, reliability, and sustaining.
• Experience with hands‑on debug of hardware systems such as with analyzers, oscilloscopes, and JTAG.

The base salary range for this position is  –  USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
