Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 Annually, dependent on experience.

Locations: Colorado Springs or Denver.

Job Summary

Our Water Resources Group serves a diverse set of clients with tailored approaches to complex water‑related issues. The Project Engineer will support and execute engineering design, construction, and permitting projects for water resources, working with local, regional, state, federal agencies, non‑profit organizations, and private landowners.

Essential Functions
  • Project administration for small to mid‑size projects from initial planning through construction administration.
  • Support development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water resources projects.
  • Prepare construction specifications and drawings for urban drainage systems, stream restoration corridors, and water quality improvements.
  • Analyze and model hydrology and hydraulic parameters for FEMA floodplain mapping.
  • Perform statistical analysis for hydrology and water quality studies.
  • Work within defined scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Implement appropriate quality assurance procedures.
  • Communicate with project team regarding questions, concerns, progress, and results.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and locations as necessary.
  • Technical writing.
  • Assist with proposal writing, cost estimating, and client management as necessary.
  • Perform business development activities and maintain positive client relationships as directed.
Competencies
  • Ability to take direction and work independently while effectively collaborating with teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydraulics/hydrology software.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, procedures, and criteria.
  • Strong industry relationships and understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteria.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel.
Education And Experience
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil or environmental engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources, Hydrology/Hydraulic Engineering, or approved equivalent.
  • EIT Certificate or ability to obtain EIT within one year.
  • 2–6 years of progressive, comprehensive water resources experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
