Position
Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer – Dams and Hydraulics team, Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid work model requiring regular office attendance.
OverviewJoining the dams and hydraulics team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, conveyance, collection, and transmission, integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Prepare proposals by developing work scope, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Manage projects by monitoring project progress, providing technical assistance, and interfacing with clients.
- Analyze concrete dams and appurtenant structures using computer software and hand calculations.
- Conduct field inspections of project sites to assess existing conditions.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
- Engineer of record for design and/or analysis projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering.
- 15+ years of experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state.
- Strong data analysis and problem solving skills.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Master’s Degree with emphasis in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering.
- Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP
2000, or STADD. - Experience in risk analysis of dams.
- Experience performing seismic analysis of dams and appurtenant structures.
The salary range is $140,000–$180,000, depending on experience and geographic location.
