In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of construction project management and the technical details of ground improvement, shoring, and foundation drilling while assisting in job site management. Activities include preliminary design, estimating, layout, data acquisition, scheduling, and quality control.
If you are ready to put your engineering skills to work in the field for 3 to 5 years while progressively assuming project management responsibilities, we are currently looking for individuals who recognize the importance of field experience, understand soil mechanics, have the ability to listen, have a desire to learn, can interact and communicate with field personnel, enjoy the competitive nature of contracting, enjoy working outside in all types of weather, want hands‑on experience in the geotechnical construction industry, and seek an opportunity to make things happen.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Review and utilize project plans, specifications, stand specifications, and soils reports
- Review and understand project scope and budget
- Assist Project Manager to prepare all submittals and RFI’s
- Assist Project Manager in pre-planning field work
- Prepare and review project video and pictures prior to start of construction for any changes in conditions that are not noted on project plans
- Attend job handoff meetings with Project Manager, Estimator, and Superintendent, prior to job start. Ensure everyone understands scope, schedule, and production rates required to complete the project at or below budgeted cost.
- Attend Weekly job site meetings, as required
- Coordinate with Project Manager to submit all close out documents including as‑builts, warranty letter, O&M manuals, and punch list required to complete the project
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
- BS or MS Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
