  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of Product and Quality Assurance principles and experience with generation and disposition of product non-conformances
  • Ability to read/interpret schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques
  • Basic experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies
  • Exposure to and execution of complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to demonstrate compliance with system requirements

What the job involves
  • As a Test Engineer II at Sierra Space, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to contribute to the testing and validation of aerospace systems and components
  • Working under general supervision, you will participate in the planning, execution, and documentation of Verification and Validation (V&V) activities
  • This role requires strong knowledge of engineering principles and the ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams to solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • In this role, you will participate in the planning, conducting, and documenting of Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for aerospace systems and components, ensuring compliance with system requirements
  • You will apply your strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices to support testing activities and solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Working effectively in multi-disciplinary design and development teams, you will follow established procedures and guidelines under general supervision
  • You will contribute to requirements management, system design, and systems integration efforts, ensuring effective system performance and reliability
  • Additionally, you will read and interpret schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques to resolve testing issues
  • You will develop and execute complex and professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports, demonstrating compliance with system requirements
  • Utilizing various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies, you will support validation efforts and ensure the quality of aerospace systems and components
  • Furthermore, you will participate in the generation and disposition of product non-conformances, adhering to Product and Quality Assurance principles
  • Preparing and documenting technical data, reports, and analyses to support engineering initiatives and project decision-making will be a key responsibility
  • Communicate technical concepts and information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to team members and senior engineers
