Job Title and Location

Sales Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) – Remote (must reside in Colorado)

• Lead technical sales for commercial, industrial, and utility‑scale BESS projects across Colorado.
• Develop scopes, preliminary engineering, and conceptual designs.
• Engage early with customers, consultants, utilities, and EPCs to shape system architecture using bid specifications, utility requirements, and project documentation.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility reviews, and DER introductions.
• Interpret RFPs, bid specifications, utility interconnection requirements, and engineering drawings.
• Prepare proposals, layouts, single‑line diagrams, and technical narratives.
• Collaborate with development, engineering, project management, and electrical sub‑contractors.

• 3–7+ years of technical sales experience in BESS, UPS, microgrids, or power systems.
• Ability to interpret RFPs, bid specifications, technical drawings, and utility requirements.
• Strong understanding of BESS components (PCS/inverters, BMS/EMS, safety systems, balance‑of‑plant).
• Familiarity with large critical‑power systems.
• Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.
• Must reside in Colorado and willing to travel up to 70% within the state.
• Maintain a clean driving record to meet company insurability standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
• Experience with both turnkey development and equipment‑only strategies.
• Familiarity with solar PV, EV charging, and multiple DER systems.
• Working knowledge of UL 9540/9540A, NFPA 855, NEC, IEEE 1547.
• Ability to support basic financial modeling (IRR, NPV, LCOS).

• Standing, walking, using hands, talking, and hearing.
• Work may be indoor and/or outdoor; noise level may be moderate at times.

• Base salary range: $90,700 – $136,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and education).
