DTO is looking for an individual to manage the locomotive maintenance overhauls and PM program related to:
- project management of locomotive electrical and mechanical system repairs and overhauls
- Data analysis and root cause problem solving of maintenance trends
- Electrical and Mechanical systems training
- Shop floor technical support for locomotive technicians
Denver Transit Operators is looking for a self-motivated individual who possesses an eagerness to learn new systems and provide data analysis of mechanical and electrical subsystem issues to promote railcar availability. You will be working out of DTO's state-of-the-art maintenance facility located in the heart of Metro Denver, built in 2015 to service our advanced Electric Multiple Unit railcars.
This is a full-time position with a starting salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 annually.

This position is responsible for providing project management, analysis, training, and shop floor technical support related to the various subsystems used on DTO's 66 Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) railcar fleet.
This position will be responsible for analyzing the performance of the fleet, drafting scope of work for renewal activities, managing renewal projects, performing hands on troubleshooting alongside technicians for complex system issues, and providing technical training to the railcar maintenance team.
The primary focus for this position will be the electro-pneumatic braking system on the railcars, but other projects or systems may be assigned as needed such as:
- Maintain records of air brake change out requirements to ensure all Federal, State, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements are met.
- Draft technical scopes of work for fleet component/subsystem renewal activities.
- Lead, track, and manage all aspects of renewal projects.
- Assist DTO maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical or electrical railcar components as a subject matter expert.
- Train maintenance technicians on component change out instructions for both scheduled and unscheduled events.
- Represent DTO at meetings with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), OEM, and Regional Transportation District (RTD) as a subject matter expert.
- Coordinate with DTO Procurement to ensure inventory is maintained at satisfactory predefined levels.
- Conducts air brake training programs and classroom presentations as a DTO instructor, including new hire training, specific to DTO's EMU fleet.
- Collects data, identifies trends, performs research, and performs root cause analyses pertinent to EMU performance issues.
The ideal candidate will possess the following preferred skillset/experience:
- Experience managing maintenance-related projects (Scope of Work, Contract oversight, resource planning, schedule and timeline, deliverables)
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic control systems and/or pneumatic systems
- Experience solving complex electrical/mechanical problems
- Experience tracking mechanical performance and analyzing that data to identify failure trends
- Experience performing hands on repairs in a maintenance field
- Experience in a training role in a maintenance environment
- Experience using computer-based maintenance management tracking software
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, project management or related field, or an equivalent level of applicable experience
- Experience working in rail vehicle design, supply, operations, or related mechanical/electrical maintenance field
- Must be able to track failure data to identify failure trends
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending electrical schematics and prints.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic control systems and/or pneumatic systems
- Must possess the ability to problem-solve mechanical and electrical systems down to the root cause and develop solutions
- Demonstrated ability to perform project scheduling, costing, risk analysis and overall project management
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint) at an intermediate to advanced level
- Must have a valid state of CO driver's license
