Entry‑Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Jacobs

You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, gaining familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with teammates and the discipline lead.

As part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team, you’ll design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities. Your responsibilities include developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, and documenting and modeling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.

• Associate’s or Engineering Tech degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Revit software preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) credential preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute innovative ideas.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and broaden knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate in multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Passion for buildings and construction.
• Prior experience with DDC and PLC‑based control systems.
• Experience with data center design or operations.

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $80,000.00
. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
