The Role

The Health and Safety Field Specialist supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Tasman’s Health and Safety Program (HSP) across the Colorado Division. This role serves as a subject matter expert to field crews and operations leadership, providing hands‑on guidance and practical application of health and safety policies in active field environments. With approximately 90% field‑based work, this position plays a vital role in hazard identification, compliance assurance, and promoting a proactive safety culture across Colorado operations.

What

You’ll Be Doing Field Safety & Program Execution
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Tasman’s Health and Safety Program (HSP) aligned with Colorado operations
  • Advise field leadership and project managers on safety compliance, hazard mitigation strategies, and best practices
  • Conduct daily project safety inspections, identify hazards, document findings, and verify corrective actions
  • Reinforce safety expectations as part of daily field operations
Oversight, Risk Management & Incident Response
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced field-level safety engagement
  • Assist with communicating regulatory changes and required updates to safety procedures
  • Respond to, document, and assist with investigations of incidents, near‑misses, and stop‑work events
  • Track corrective actions to closure
Safety Communication & Culture
  • Support development and delivery of safety communications, including toolbox talks and safety breaks
  • Promote a proactive, engaged safety culture across all field operations
Equipment & Coordination
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, gas monitors, and related gear
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Health & Safety Officer (CHSO) and Colorado Health & Safety Manager on regional safety initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support health and safety objectives
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, oil & gas, or field‑based operations
  • OSHA 10‑hour certification (General Industry or Construction)
  • PEC Veriforce Basic Orientation (Safe Land USA or earlier versions)
  • H2S certification
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification
  • Working knowledge of environmental field work and excavation operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour certification
  • OSHA 30‑hour or higher‑level safety certification
  • OSHA Competent Person – Trenching & Excavation
  • Oil & Gas client‑specific certifications (e.g., Chevron, Civitas, Phillips 66, Oxy)
  • Experience operating or inspecting heavy equipment (skid steer, excavator, loader)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Professional working proficiency or fluency in Spanish
  • Strong safety leadership and field engagement skills
  • Ability to assess regulatory compliance and field risk
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in dynamic environments
Work Environment Field Conditions
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Active construction, excavation, and environmental job sites
  • Noise, environmental contaminants, and physical hazards
  • Routine use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands to handle tools and equipment
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Participation in pre‑employment and random drug and background screening
Schedule

Full‑time, Monday – Friday, day‑shift hours. Start and end times may vary based on project requirements.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid driver’s license.
