Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering Services owns the new product development (NPI) and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting all data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. This role is part of a diverse team of engineers and supply‑chain specialists who collaborate to deliver reliable, high‑performance servers and hardware components at scale.
Responsibilities- Integrate hardware and software components to build AWS servers, collaborating with service teams to define products and support data center operations in all locations.
- Lead the product design cycle from concept to production, completing design, development, validation and deployment of servers at scale.
- Solve interdisciplinary design challenges across server/board design, thermal‑mechanical analysis, firmware/software, integration into the service control plane, manufacturing, and data center operations.
- Produce functional block diagrams, schematics, specifications, analysis, test plans and monitoring plans for new servers and components.
- Work closely with internal teams, suppliers and external partners to ensure the highest quality and to improve cost, reliability, performance and serviceability.
- Own projects end‑to‑end, exercising strong judgment to solve technical problems and to guide team members when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in server‑level design for compute, storage or accelerator segments, or other complex product design.
- 5+ years leading ODMs and other suppliers through product development and manufacturing processes.
- Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
- Experience in board and server root‑cause analysis and resolution.
- 6+ years of experience in complex product development such as servers, network switches or other highly integrated devices with hardware, software and service aspects.
- Expertise in early product definition and feature trade‑off analysis.
- Expertise in product development disciplines including thermal, mechanical, power, firmware/software, reliability and sustaining.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Proficient scripting and debugging abilities, and Linux operations command knowledge.
- Experience deploying and operating hardware and applications across large data centers.
- Experience leading hardware and software development engineering teams.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles and technical depth requirements for this role.

Salary & BenefitsSalary ranges:
• Cupertino, CA: $157,300 – $212,800 annually
• Seattle, WA: $136,000 – $184,000 annually
