Tool Designer CAD Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Tool Designer CAD Engineer for a Contract with a client in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate is responsible for supporting machine setup, executing prototype builds, and optimizing tooling processes to ensure high-quality production outcomes.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Tool Designer CAD Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Support machine setup and configuration using CAD designs and tooling inputs to ensure accurate production builds.
• Execute prototype builds in collaboration with tooling engineers and assemblers to meet design and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues impact build quality, efficiency, or cycle time.
• Optimize processes by providing feedback on manufacturability, material selection, and production constraints.
• Scale prototypes are built from early development stages to pre-production readiness.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply expertise in cut-and-sew, bonding, and fabrication techniques for softgoods manufacturing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in CAD design, tooling, or manufacturing engineering, preferably in softgoods or textile-based products.
• Strong hands-on expertise in cut-and-sew processes, softgoods fabrication, and the ability to interpret CAD drawings and engineering specifications.
• Proven experience supporting machine setup, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing tooling and manufacturing processes for scalability.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
