In this role, you will supervise a team of service engineers and technicians, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of service offerings, solutions, and projects to customers. Each day, you will contribute to the execution of service strategy and growth by focusing on cost‑effective service delivery and adherence guidelines. You will also showcase your expertise by driving service achievements through resource planning, allocation, and effective implementation of standard procedures and safety protocols.
ABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings. The Division’s technical teams work closely with industry partners, delivering advanced solutions that support rapid growth, energy transition, and sustainability objectives. The Division’s portfolio includes industrial circuit breakers, low‑voltage systems, motor starting applications, and safety devices like switches and relays. Its Power Protection unit supports the world’s largest data center companies with advanced energy‑efficient UPS solutions.
The Division’s ABB Ability™ Energy Manager provides a scalable, easy‑to‑use platform that helps organizations save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
Work model for the role:
Remote {}. Successful candidates will be located in Denver, CO, Cheyenne, WY, Des Moines, IA, or Fargo, ND. Combination of office work and field visits, with approximately 50-60% travel required.
- Creates, implements, and reviews field service operations strategy for designated area(s) based on the regional service business strategy.
- Drives performance of field service activities by following up on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and driving corrective actions based on them. Monitor and manage service KPIs, including response times, resolution rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of field service technicians.
- Ensure all field activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and manufacturer specifications.
- Ensures customer focus, understanding of sense of urgency, and care in their own area of responsibility. Ensures customer retention by delivering superior customer service experience in field service activities.
- Promotes continuous improvement in field service quality, ensuring first‑time‑right implementation.
- Drives continuous improvement culture and the implementation of improvements to achieve service excellence in their own area of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years experience. Or Associates Degree in Electrical Theory with 8+ years of experience. Or High School diploma/GED with 10+ years of equivalent work/military experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in critical power systems, with at least 2 years of leadership qualities.
- Strong technical knowledge of UPS, generators, PDUs, and batteries.
- Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and client relationships effectively.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., NFPA, ANSI, OSHA). Regulation and legal compliance. Technical support and services.
- Project Management;

Marketing, Sales and Product Management Customer Centricity. - Must be legally authorized to work at ABB in the United States now and in the future without Visa sponsorship.
- Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as NETA, IEEE, or manufacturer‑specific certifications;
Experience in a mission‑critical environment (e.g., data centers, hospitals, or industrial facilities).
