Energy Efficiency Engineer

Role & Responsibilities

Touchstone IQ is seeking an Energy Efficiency Engineer with 4-6 years of experience performing energy audits within the commercial and multi-family sectors. The optimal candidate will have experience preforming energy audits within a diverse range of commercial facility types and must be able to perform assessments, energy savings calculations and report development with little oversight. Effective candidates will be used to working with a team lead as a supporting energy engineer as well as independently.

The position also includes assisting with a variety of energy consulting functions in the planning, design and execution of energy efficiency and sustainability projects. This will include supporting the execution of energy efficiency programs, industrial and commercial building energy efficiency audits, retro-commissioning projects and renewable energy system assessments. This may also include supporting the design and implementation of city, state or utility energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

The position will include executing energy efficiency engineering calculations and assessments using engineering, sustainability or environmental science knowledge and experience with minimal oversight.

Effective candidates should also have good client handling skills and will be expected to support business development activities.

• Typically has 4-6 years relevant Energy Efficiency Engineering, Project Management and Sustainability experience.
• Requires completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, or equivalent.
• Preference toward individuals with a Certified Energy Manager certificate, Master’s degree, or working toward a Professional Engineer License.
• Has experience, knowledge and skills in project management, energy efficiency engineering, and sustainability discipline including performing energy audits
• Works independently with minimal direct guidance from senior staff. Usually determines own work priorities. Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
• Manages own time to meet agreed targets and develops plans for short-term work activities.
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

Compensation is dependent on experience but includes competitive pay, flexible work schedules, generous vacation days as well as a matching 401k package.
