• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, environmental, civil, or mechanical), environmental science, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in air quality compliance, permitting, and regulatory programs.
• Direct consulting or industry experience in the environmental field with working regulatory knowledge of local air districts, state and federal programs, Title V and RECLAIM facilities.
• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance documents.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and build lasting client relationships.
• Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.

  This position requires a valid driver’s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

• Experience in energy transition (oil and gas), chemical, technology, manufacturing, or mining sectors.
• Familiarity with AERMOD, GIS, health risk assessments, CEQA, and other compliance programs.
• Master’s degree in a related discipline.
• Professional certifications (P.E., CSP, CHMM, or similar).

• Manage complex air permitting and compliance assurance programs under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations.
• Conduct regulatory analyses and develop permitting strategies tailored to client operations.
• Engage with regulators to facilitate permit reviews and approvals.
• Prepare technical proposals and lead business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain client relationships that drive repeat business and market growth.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project teams across multiple ERM offices.

For the Managing Consultant, Environmental Air Quality Compliance, Engineering or Science position, the anticipated annual base pay is $103,967 – $132,573 USD. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. This role may be eligible for bonus pay.
