Position Overview
Woolpert is hiring an Engineer-in-Training to join our dynamic Aviation team at our Colorado office. This position reports to the Senior Engineer and is responsible for performing engineering functions specific to aviation/airfield design under the direction of a Professional Engineer.
We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
What You Will Do- Perform engineering computations, evaluations, design analyses, and development.
- Prepare reports, recommendations, and opinions for approval by a supervising Professional Engineer.
- Apply standard engineering practices to adjust and correlate data, resolve discrepancies, and follow processes.
- Work as a member of a project team to develop data and/or applications.
- Use Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD to develop engineering and design documents.
- Participate in firm-wide quality initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Build 2D and 3D models from various information sources following company standards.
- Design or redesign complex layouts and drawings from specifications.
- Communicate with the design team about concepts, data, and specific needs.
- Manage personal task assignments and adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Perform basic calculations for civil system components using Civil 3D.
- Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
- Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
- Analyze proposed project solutions for structural reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Support construction administration and observation efforts, including reviewing drawings and making changes based on field input from Construction Managers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic technical documents.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
- Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.
- Familiarity with FAA Design Advisory Circulars.
- Experience laying out airport features and pavement markings based on FAA Advisory Circulars.
- Fundamentals of Engineering certification preferred.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$75,400 – $94,300 USD
