Construction and Capital Project Manager

This Principal‑level Construction & Capital Project Assurance Manager role will be based in Denver, Colorado, USA, supporting lenders, financiers, and stakeholders across large mining, energy, and infrastructure projects.

• Lead and assess capital project controls processes, including WBS development, cost estimating, cost control, forecasting, and project accounting/reporting.
• Review and validate project budgets, cash‑flow forecasts, contingency usage, and change‑management processes.
• Monitor construction progress, productivity, and physical completion against schedules, milestones, and execution plans through site inspections and progress reviews.
• Assess contractor performance, construction methodologies, schedule integrity, and critical‑path risks to identify potential delays or delivery impacts.
• Review and verify payment certificates, drawdown requests, variation orders, claims, and other commercial drivers that may affect costs or timelines.
• Identify emerging project risks, cost overruns, non‑conformances, and dispute exposure, supporting mitigation strategy development and implementation.
• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with technical standards, specifications, permits, QA/QC requirements, and lender obligations.
• Monitor health, safety, environmental, and social performance, including incident reporting and environmental management commitments.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reporting for senior leadership, lenders, and project sponsors, providing insight into performance, forecast outcomes, and key risks.
• Collaborate with finance, technical services, planning, supply chain, IT, and regional project teams to support effective governance and reporting.
• Liaise with lenders, sponsors, EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants, and project teams, participating in site meetings, technical reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and investment stakeholders across major mining, energy, and infrastructure developments.

• Minimum 15 years of industry experience, including at least 10 years in construction, commissioning, or project delivery on large‑scale mining, infrastructure, or energy projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM delivery models.
• Prior lenders’ technical advisor or independent engineer experience is advantageous.
• Technical and professional competencies in construction scheduling (e.g., Primavera P6), cost control, contract administration, QA/QC, risk management, and project assurance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or related engineering discipline.
• Chartered Professional Engineer designation is considered an asset.
