CAD Programmer / Field Templator
Company OverviewYK Stone Center is a custom counter top fabrication and installation company specializing in natural stone and quartz surfaces for residential and commercial projects throughout the Denver metro area.
Position SummaryThis role combines:
- Field templating and measuring
- CAD programming
- Slab layout planning
- Coordination with fabrication and installation teams
This is not an entry-level position. Prior counter top industry experience is required.
Primary ResponsibilitiesField Templating
- Visit residential and commercial job sites
- Digitally template countertops using laser templating equipment
- Verify dimensions, cabinetry readiness, and installation conditions
- Communicate jobsite conditions and potential issues clearly
CAD Programming
- Create and edit counter top shop drawings and CAD files
- Program jobs for fabrication equipment
- Review dimensions, seams, overhangs, edge details, and sink/appliance locations
Slab Layout & Production Coordination
- Create slab layouts to optimize material usage and visual flow
- Coordinate layouts with customers, sales staff, and fabrication team
- Assist in scheduling and production workflow coordination
- Minimum 2 years of counter top templating experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience using Proliner or laser templating systems
- Minimum 2 years of counter top CAD programming experience
- Experience reading plans and field conditions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Experience with counter top templating software
- Experience with slab layout optimization
- Experience in counter top fabrication workflow
- Experience coordinating with fabrication and installation teams
- AlphaCAM experience
- Natural stone and quartz fabrication industry background
- Starting pay: approximately $27/hour, depending on experience
- Opportunity for advancement and increased compensation
- Performance review after 90 days
- Bonus opportunities tied to efficiency, templating accuracy, slab utilization, and production performance
- 1 week PTO annually
- 2 weeks PTO after 4 years
